Unusual Ditto Activity at the Let's Go Event

This is significantly lower than the near 10% combined Ditto transformation rate of the other seven disguise species.

The cause of this strange Starly exclusion is uncertain, but Niantic’s Let’s Go event announcement left an interesting prompt: “The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild! Which ones are actually Ditto?” Was this a subtle hint that Starly was actually a red herring all along? Using a chi-squared test of homogeneity, researchers tested the flee-corrected proportion of plain disguises and Ditto transformations for each of the eligible disguise species. They found that the proportion of Ditto transformations was unequal across the different species groups, with pairwise comparisons showing that Starly transformed into Ditto at a significantly lower rate than the seven other disguise species. No difference in Ditto rates was found among the other seven disguise species.

In conclusion, while the Let’s Go event brought new Ditto disguises and increased transformation rates, researchers observed an unexpected absence of Ditto disguised as Starly. The cause of this phenomenon remains unknown, but it adds to the mystery and intrigue surrounding Ditto in Pokémon GO.
