Biology Clamperl is an aquatic bivalve Pokémon that lives on the seabed. It has a dark blue bivalve shell with a silver border around the inner margins. The shell is utilized to shield the animal as well as to clamp down on prey. A fully developed shell will be riddled with nicks and scrapes. Inside the shell lies a delicate, light blue body made up of six spherical extensions and a pink, pearl-like head in the middle, which is commonly represented with its eyes closed. Each cheek has a circular white patch. This Pokémon's pearls boost psychic strength and may be blue in color, as shown in the anime. These pearls are also ten times more precious than Shellder pearls. It is carnivorous, clamping on on prey and not releasing go until it dies. Clamperl will grow too large to fit within its shell when it is near to evolution. Clamperl is the only Pokémon that obtains additional benefits when equipped with a Deep Sea Tooth or Deep Sea Scale. Trainers, Niantic has recently introduced a Clamperl-themed Limited Research Event! This event seems to follow the same structure as the last Limited Research Feebas Day Event, which took place in January. Clamperl Limited Research 2019 Event is Here!
