Rattata is a tiny quadrupedal rodent. It has purple fur with cream fur on its face, paws, and underbelly. It features small eyes with white sclera and pupils and red irises, round ears with cream-colored interiors, and a single whisker on each cheek. The end of its lengthy tail is firmly coiled. Its most distinguishing trait is its huge teeth. Its teeth, like those of other rodents, develop continually during its life and must be worn down by chewing. Female Rattatas have shorter whiskers and lighter hair than males.
Rattata can dwell wherever it can find food, which it does for the most of the day. It can munch on almost anything because to its strong teeth. Rattata can unleash a devastating bite when threatened. Prior to Generation IV, its hallmark moves were Hyper Fang and Super Fang.
