Biology

Tapu Lele is a Legendary Pokémon that resembles a butterfly. Tapu Lele's upper body and head are black, with a few faint white spots. It has blue eyes with a pink stripe running across the centre of each iris. A curved white line runs under each eye, and a curved pink line runs above each, divided into three pieces. Another, broader curved white line runs over its top body. It has digit-less hands and fluffy pink bands on each wrist on its skinny arms. A profusion of dark pink, tentacle-like hair covers its head. Two longer hair strands frame its face. A shell like an insect encases its dark pink lower body and sits on top of its head.

The shell of Tapu Lele is mostly pale pink. The conical section of its head has a white diamond marking in the middle and a white half-diamond marking below it. Both diamond shapes are surrounded by black. The shell that wraps around its lower body bears diamond markings and an extra half-diamond on the rear. On each side, a hexagon pattern of five dark pink triangles and one bright pink triangle is highlighted in black. These are similar to the compound eyes seen in many insects. There are also butterfly-wing-like projections on the rear of the shell and a little black protrusion on the bottom that resembles a coiled proboscis. When closed, the shell resembles the head of a beetle with little wings.

This Akala Island guardian is renowned for dispersing shimmering scales that impact people by energizing and repairing their bodies; nevertheless, these scales may be hazardous if too many are touched at once. Some consider it cruel because of how it harms others while scattering its scales for its own delight. Tapu Lele, according to mythology, ended a battle between Alola's islands by curing fatigued soldiers with its scales, although whispers suggest a more frightening reality behind this narrative. Its power is derived from the energy contained inside its shell. If Tapu Lele is at a disadvantage in combat, it will emphasize avoiding defeat over attempting a decisive win. [1] The aroma of flowers is thought to give it vitality.

Tapu Lele and the other guardian deities are the only Pokémon known to be able to learn the move Nature's Madness. They are also the only Pokémon known to use the Z-Move Guardian of Alola.
