Seedot Community Day in May 2020

Pokemon Go's upcoming Community Day event has been described by Niantic. The Grass-type Seedot will be the featured Pokemon for May's Community Day, which will take place next Sunday, May 24.

Seedot Community Day is Here!

This month's event, like April's, will last six hours instead of three, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time. During that time, Seedot will occur in the wild considerably more often than usual, and you'll get your first opportunity in the game to meet a Shiny Seedot.

If you successfully develop Nuzleaf (Seedot's evolved form) into Shiftry by 7 p.m. local time—two hours after the Community Day ends—it will learn the event-exclusive move Bullet Seed, which it would not ordinarily be able to learn in Pokemon Go. This applies to any Nuzleaf that evolves within the time limit, even if you captured them before the Community Day.

Niantic, like previous month, will host a special Special Research narrative quest for May's Community Day. The Seeing Double questline will provide prizes such as Incenses, Golden Razz Berries, and other stuff. To access the narrative quest, you must first acquire a virtual ticket for $1 USD.

A few extra in-game goodies round out May's Community Day. To begin, capturing Pokemon during the event will provide you treble the regular amount of XP. Any incense you use will also last three hours instead of the standard 30 minutes.

Niantic will hold its first-ever 24-hour livestream on the Pokemon Go YouTube channel during Community Day. The webcast begins on May 23 at 6 p.m. PT and allows users to "watch Seedot and other Pokemon play in the wild." More information regarding May's Community Day may be found on the official Pokemon Go website.

In other Pokemon Go news, until May 19, the Legendary Pokemon Virizion will be available in five-star Raids. On May 17, Niantic will also celebrate Pokemon Go's second Incense Day. During the event, you will get the opportunity to meet Shiny Carvanha. Other Pokemon Go news may be found below.

Pokemon GO is suitable for staying at home. The May Community Day event is only a few weeks away, so gamers are thinking about the cute Pokemon Seedot and its evolutions. On the weekend of May 24, 2020, Pokemon GO users will have six hours to capture as many Gen 3 Grass-type Pokemon as they can and extend their collection with shiny spawns, evolutions, and perhaps a few more surprises. The core concept of Pokemon GO Community Day is simple: go out and capture a ton of pokemon for three hours, but things are different this time. For those that want a little more guidance, we've put up a detailed handbook with all the information you'll need for the big day.

Keep in mind that if you haven't already, this would be an excellent opportunity to obtain that Grass-type badge. The badge isn't particularly difficult to get for long-term players, but this is an excellent chance for younger players to catch up.

  • Seedot - Gen 3 Grass-type with powerful evolution form

Date

  • Sunday, May 24, 2020

Start and End Times

  • 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time

Beginning in February 2019, Community Day activities will always take place on local time, regardless of where you play. This alters somewhat during the winter months since time is divided between hemispheres rather than time zones. However, it seems that we are back in time at this moment.

Special Move

The exclusive Community Day relocation for May 2020 has not yet been confirmed. This information should be available within the next week, so stay tuned for further information on the migration and its status.

If you want to secure it, be sure to evolve within the active time frame (within an hour of the event concluding).

Bonuses

  • 3× Catch XP

  • The duration of incense activated during the event is three hours.

Buddy Pokémon with a Friend Throughout the event, levels of Great Buddy or above will send you useful goods such as Poké Balls. Learn how to become Great Buddies with your companion by reading this help center article.

Seedot will become increasingly common in the wild. If you're fortunate, you could come upon a Shiny Seedot.

To acquire a Shiftry that learns Bullet Seed, develop Nuzleaf (the evolved version of Seedot) during the event or up to two hours thereafter.

You may view a Community Day-exclusive Special Research story—Seeing Double!—for $1 (or the corresponding price tier in your local currency). Follow Professor Willow as he learns about Seedot and realizes how much it and its evolved versions, Nuzleaf and Shiftry, like to annoy Trainers and Pokémon alike. Finish it to get three Incense, five Golden Razz Berries, and other goodies.

Take a few pictures on Community Day for a surprise!

There will be a one-time-only May Community Day package that includes an Elite Fast TM, 30 Ultra Balls, three Incense, and three Lucky Eggs.

Limited Time Field Research

According to recent revisions to the game's programming, this Community Day, like last month's, will briefly provide unique Field Research activities that focus on the highlighted Pokemon. If you wish to view these missions, make sure you claim your prizes and clear a spot for them.

Shiny Variant

Niantic seldom confirms the shining probability until after the event has begun, so keep a look out for shiny Seedot while hunting. They've appeared at every previous Community Day event, and we fully anticipate to see them again this month.

That's all we know at this moment! Seedot is a very common Pokemon (and an even more common shiny), and it's likely to provide trainers a cause to take a break from acquiring the greatest Unova Pokemon in the game so far. More Pokemon GO details will be provided as the event approaches. Until then, trainers, best of luck!

For the time being, users may wish to continue searching for the greatest Unova Pokemon in the game if upgrading their Battle Raid lineups is their main aim. Keep an eye out for additional Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates in the near future. Until then, trainers, best of luck!

Pokemon GO is now available on Android and iOS smartphones in certain locations.
