Like with previous Safari Zone events, there is no official word on whether or not a shiny will be released with this Safari Zone, or which of the featured Pokémon it will be. That being said, Sentosa's website claims that Shiny Shuckle will be the next shiny to appear, which makes sense given that Alolan Exeggutor is a frequent boosted rare spawn and Lapras is a widely boosted rare spawn.

Update: On April 17th Shiny Shuckle was seen in Singapore at Safari Zone Sentosa where Shuckle spawns increased for approximately 30 minutes.

About event tickets

Tickets are now available for registration, and will be used for entry to the event. These tickets have the following qualities:

  • Are limited to one day and for one trainer, although up to 3 people can register as a group.

  • Are required to see the event spawns, in this case regionals like Tropius, and Pokéstops

Keep in mind trainers, that this is a selection based event, so you may or may not get a ticket even if you register in time. You will get an email confirmation if you do on the 11th of March, so be on the lookout.

How to register

  • Step 1: Register at the prior link, between the 5th and 7th of March for any preferred day.

  • Step 2: Those that are accepted will get an email on the 11th of March to notify them, and another email later on with the QR Code ticket.

  • Step 3: Print the QR code.

  • Step 4: Spin the event PokéStops titled Resorts World Sentosa or Palawan Green, and then scan your QR code.

  • Step 5: You are done now, explore the island to search for the regionals and possible shiny Pokémon, as well as make sure to use any of the preferred modes of transport.

For folks without tickets

If you did not obtain a ticket to the Pokémon GO Safari Zone in Sentosa, don't be too concerned; although you will lose out on certain spawns and special PokéStops, the general area will witness a shift in spawning and will be a fun event even for those outside the region. Also, previous Safari Zone events have included a shiny potential Pokémon, such as Psyduck, Wingull, Roselia, Plusle, and Minun, and it seems that this will be the case with Shuckle. Keep a look out for those in other regions of the globe!

It's been a few years since Pokémon GO was launched into the wild, but the augmented reality smartphone game is still highly popular here. So much so that a special Pokémon GO Safari Zone event hosted last month on the resort island of Sentosa drew over 95,000 eager participants from all around the globe looking to capture some uncommon pocket monsters.

The five-day event was a smashing success, according to figures revealed yesterday by the official Pokémon GO team. Trainers encountered rarities such as Tropius (that Grass/Flying-type Pokémon introduced during the Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald era) and shiny versions of Shuckle (apparently notorious for having low attack levels) at the first ever Pokémon GO Safari Zone in Southeast Asia, which ran from April 18 to April 22.

Throughout the event, participants walked 441,000 kilometers (!) and caught 14.1 million Pokémon... This is an absurd figure that makes us grateful the event wasn't hosted on the island of Singapore - we still have PTSD from when throngs of Pokémon GO players jammed the streets and neighbourhoods during the game's peak popularity.

Fans of Pokémon GO, rejoice! From April 18 to 22, 2019, Sentosa will be host to Southeast Asia's first Pokémon GO Safari Zone! You'll be able to catch your favorite Pokémon, including region-exclusive Pokémon!

Trainers can anticipate many PokéStops to stock up on supplies for a once-in-a-lifetime journey, as well as rare, shiny, and never-before-seen Pokémon wandering throughout Sentosa, such as the region-specific Tropius, shiny Shuckle, Unown, and more!

How to take part?

Head over to the registration site from 5 to 7 March 2019.

Participate as an individual or as part of a group of up to three candidates. Around 100,000 free tickets will be distributed across the five-day event (you will be asked to choose a preferred date), and a poll will be used to select attendees.

What happens if you are selected?
