Pokémon GO Makes An Impact: Pokémon World Championships 2017 Event is Here!

Pokémon GO came out a year ago, and since then its popularity has been reduced considerably. However, at the Pokémon World Championships Opening Ceremony it was announced that for the duration of the weekend, the Pokémon Kangaskhan - previously exclusive to Australia and some European cities - would be available around the Anaheim Convention Center. In addition to that, Unown started spawning around the convention center with the letters spelling out the word "WORLDS". Normally, this wouldn't be of note, but should you step outside the Anaheim Convention Center at any hour of the day, there would be literally hundreds of people milling around, hunting these Pokémon and participating in raids. It really was a phenomenal thing to see. People rushing when a Kangaskhan had spawned, people screaming about a Moltres raid, and so on. Seeing people from all countries playing Pokémon GO in such a small place was great. Even the staff from Game Freak could periodically be seen when there was a raid. Granted, there were a few signal faults here and there, but it ran well and people came from all across the US just to get Kangaskhan and Unown. It is proof that Pokémon GO is still kicking.   Hundreds of the world's greatest Pokémon Trading Card Game, video game, and Pokkén Tournament players will battle for the title of Pokémon World Champion this weekend, August 18-20, in Anaheim, CA, during the 2017 Pokémon World Championships. The 2017 Pokémon World Championships will be televised live online at Pokemon.com/Live on four distinct channels, allowing spectators to follow their favorite players and events throughout the weekend. All of the action will be covered and analyzed by expert commentators. The Championships will include the main video game and trading card game series, as well as the upcoming Pokken Tournament for the Nintendo Switch. Only individuals who have earned enough points at qualifying events during the year are invited to participate in this invite-only event. Winners in the video game and trading card categories will receive over $500,000 in cash and gifts. Participants in the Pokken Tournament competition will compete for a $20,000 prize pool. Competitors will compete on the Wii U version of the game. The Pokemon World Championships 2017 will be held from August 18 to August 20. The opening day of this year's Pokemon World Championships starts on Friday at 6 p.m. BST. On Saturday and Sunday, everything begins an hour earlier, at 5 p.m. BST. If you want to participate, regrettably, tickets are only available by invitation, with the final qualifying round taking place between June 30 and July 2. Pokemon lovers who wish to attend the event may register online. Spectators may register for badges until they are all sold out. Tickets will be available until 1pm on Sunday, August 20, and registration is $10 for all ages. All spectators will get two booster packs when they pick up their badge, and registration costs are nonrefundable. A total of six spectator badges may be bought at once. Biology Medicham is a humanoid, bipedal Pokémon that resembles a yoga practitioner. It has a gray body with red and yellow adornments. A red headpiece with three bulb-like extensions covers the upper portion of its head: one on top and one on either side. The bulb on top is short on a female Medicham. Its large, focused eyes are slightly covered by the headpiece, and its red lips seem to be in a rounded or puckered position. Its legs appear to be covered with puffy, red pants that have a large yellow spot on the knees and yellow bands next to the hips.
