Pokémon GO Fest Yokohama 2019 Event



The fifth GO Fest event in Pokémon GO was Pokémon GO Fest Yokohama in 2019. Pokémon GO Fest Yokohama 2019 be the first year that GO Fest has been held outside of the United States and that it has been separated into various events.  Tickets for the event are now available via the Pokémon GO app. The competition is part of the Team Leaders Global Challenge.

The event was held at three different locations: Yamashita Park, Rinko Park, and Akarenga Park[3].

The event was free to attend, but there was a lottery system in place. The application period ran from Wednesday, June 19th, 2019 through Friday, June 28th, 2019. On Saturday, June 29th, 2019, the winners were contacted.

The 2019 Pokémon GO Fest events will take place in Yokohama, Japan. Yamashita, Rinko, and Akarenga Parks will have events from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time from August 6 to 12, 2019. Other events on these dates include Pikachu Outbreak 2019 and the Pokemon GO Global Research Challenge.

  • The event starts on August 6, 2019;

  • The event will take place in Yokohama City (Kanagawa Prefecture: Yamashita, Rinko and Akarenga Parks).


Trainers from all around the globe are encouraged to visit the Pokémon habitats in the parks of Yokohama. From Tuesday, August 6th to Monday, August 12th, you may attend Pokémon GO Fest 2019. The same advanced features will be available on all days of the event, but you may only choose one.

The Yokohama Pokemon GO Fest will include a fresh set of special research, unique guest challenges, and exclusive Snapshot photographs... According to the official Japanese site, there will be no special raid fights.

Giovanni, the famous Boss of the GO Rocket squad, was sighted at GO Fest Yokohama. Another tidbit of information on his presence in the game, this time in the shape of an AR Snapshot Photo. Giovanni seems to be a full-fledged character, complete with a fully textured model. When Team R debuted this summer, we witnessed something similar. Global Research Challenge


Remember that each team in the worldwide Pokémon GO community must accomplish 25 million research missions. Finally, the prizes for finishing them are additional Stardust from all sources, 1 hour of Star Pieces, and a raid day with the legendary Pokémon Suicune, which is rather nice.

The Yokohama edition, like Pokémon GO Fest Chicago and Pokémon GO Fest Dortmund, will have a fresh set of special studies, unique challenges for onsite visitors that will affect the worldwide game, and special picture opportunities. According to the official Japanese blog article, there will be no special raid fights.

Participation is free, however there will be a lottery system based on pre-applications.

Niantic is taking applications for participation beginning Wednesday, June 19 (Wed) at 8:00 a.m. and ending Friday, June 28 (Fri) at 8:00 a.m. Niantic will inform winners if they were picked via the lottery mechanism on June 29th (Saturday).

Pikachu Outbreak in Yokohama 2017 impressions


This is not the first time a large-scale Pokemon event has taken place in Yokohama; the Pikachu Outbreak in 2017 was massive. Niantic released the following information in 2017:

  • 2 million Pokemon GO fans attended the Pikachu Outbreak and related events over the 7 event days

  • 120 million Pokemon were caught

  • 15 million Pikachu were caught

Biology Medicham is a humanoid, bipedal Pokémon that resembles a yoga practitioner. It has a gray body with red and yellow adornments. A red headpiece with three bulb-like extensions covers the upper portion of its head: one on top and one on either side. The bulb on top is short on a female Medicham. Its large, focused eyes are slightly covered by the headpiece, and its red lips seem to be in a rounded or puckered position. Its legs appear to be covered with puffy, red pants that have a large yellow spot on the knees and yellow bands next to the hips.
