Detective Pikachu, the live-action Pokémon film, reaches cinemas this week, therefore an event on Pokémon Go celebrating all things Detective Pikachu is in order. Niantic and The Pokémon Company are hosting a special event to honor (and, presumably, promote) Detective Pikachu with new cosmetics and in-game prizes.

Pokémon Go players will be able to witness Pokémon from Detective Pikachu in raids and the wild from Tuesday, May 7, at 1 p.m. through Friday, May 17, at 1 p.m. It implies more Pikachu, Psyduck, Snubbull, and maybe even Mr. Mime will appear in-game.

Pikachu will also show in images taken with the Go Snapshot AR camera while wearing a detective hat. If Pikachu photobombs your photo, the Pokémon will appear in the game, with the option to capture it, similar to Smeargle.

During the event, Pokémon Go users will also get double XP for capturing Pokémon, event-specific Field Research, and new avatar accessories like as a Detective Pikachu T-shirt and a hat with Pikachu ears.

Update: The Detective Pikachu celebration in Pokemon Go is coming to an end. On Friday, May 17, is the final day to capture Shiny Aipom, a Pikachu wearing a detective's hat, and other Pokemon from the live-action film. Nevertheless, it isn't the only event in Pokemon Go this week; after the Detective Pikachu event, Niantic is hosting May's Community Day on Sunday, May 19. The original story is below.

The Detective Pikachu film is currently in cinemas, and it's filled with Easter eggs that lifelong Pokemon fans will adore. Pokemon Go creator Niantic is throwing its own special event in the blockbuster smartphone game to commemorate its debut. Players will be able to catch creatures from the upcoming film for a short period, including another Shiny Pokemon and Detective Pikachu himself. Auto HD High Low Report an issue

Pokemon from the Detective Pikachu film, like as Bulbasaur, Snubble, Psyduck, Jigglypuff, and Aipom, will emerge in the wild more often than usual from May 7 to 17. Certain movie Pokemon will also appear as Raid bosses, and players may encounter a Shiny Aipom. Also, a Pikachu dressed in a detective's helmet may photobomb any Go Snapshots you capture; if this occurs, you'll have a chance to catch it.

Apart from higher Pokemon spawning, you'll get twice as much XP for each Pokemon you catch during the Detective Pikachu event. Niantic is also giving out unique Field Research assignments at Poke Stops, and Detective Pikachu-themed apparel is available in the Style Store, including a shirt with the film's logo and a detective hat with Pikachu ears.

Detective Pikachu will be released in cinemas on May 10. The film is partially based on the 3DS game of the same name, and Ryan Reynolds voices the eponymous Pokémon. "Detective Pikachu should be fun for any and all Pokemon fans, young and old," GameSpot's Michael Rougeau stated in his review of Detective Pikachu. "As the first official live-action journey into the world of Pokemon, Detective Pikachu has characters I'd want to see again and a place I'd like to revisit."

In other Pokemon Go news, the Legendary Lake trio—Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie—have begun to emerge in Raid Battles throughout the globe after their surprising arrival earlier this month in the wild. Meanwhile, the game's next Community Day event is set for Sunday, May 19. Torchic, the Fire-type starter from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, will be featured this time.
