Fukushima has the second biggest peach output in Japan. The Pokémon cooperation first out with Chansey, whose round form and distinctive pink hue are reminiscent of the famed Fukushima peach. Food product ideas vary from typical jellies and sorbets to the unique "Fukushima Fruity Curry," which has peach, apple, and tomato.

The stamp rally project "Code F" took conducted at over 25 venues in Fukushima Prefecture in 2019. "Look for Chansey!" it says. The Fukushima prefectural administration said, "Due to Chansey, many more attendees increased by 20%, and everyone really loved the event."

Mascots, known as yuru-chara in Japan, have long been used to advertise things like places. Susaki City's Chiitan, for example, is well-known, but its Twitter accounts were recently blocked; Kumamoto Prefecture's Kumamon and Funabashi's Funassyi both have merchandise, CDs, DVDs, and video games associated with them. The same is true for Pokemon Local Actions, in which select Pokemon serve as ambassadors for certain places. Six distinct places are presently represented, and an official English website has been developed to enable more people learn about them. (The page is also available in Japanese, Korean, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.)

The Pokemon Local Actions website is intended to educate those who are considering visiting Japan or are interested in the mascots. It allows users to search by mascot. This means Fukushima's Chansey, Hokkaido's Alolan Vulpix and Vulpix, Iwate's Geodude, Kagawa's Slowpoke, Miyagi's Lapras, and Tottori's Alolan Sandslash and Sandslash each have their own pages that go over their history, explain why they were chosen for that region, offer details about the Pokemon, talk about the area, show pictures from special events, and look at special products related to the Pokemon in that area.

Those who are planning travels might also check at an event page to see what is coming up shortly. One of the most recent events was the Fukushima & Chansey Peach Festival on July 22, 2019, which included unique goods, peach-related delicacies, and Pokemon GO-related activities.

There's even a page devoted to Poke Lids. These are the Pokemon Utility Hole Covers that may be seen in select Japanese towns. You can find out where the Poke Lids are in Iwate, Kagoshima, and Kanagawa, as well as see the official art for each one.
