Valentine's Day 2018 Event

Niantic recently decided to offer Pokemon GO trainers some new assets to enjoy in the form of new Gen 3 animals to capture, which were released to the popular mobile augmented reality game a few days ago. Today Niantic introduce the Valentine's Day 2018 Event which  confirms has officially announced a special Valentine's Day event for the ARG, giving fans even more stuff to look forward to. The game's annual Valentine's Day event for 2018 will continue from now until February 15, as shown below in a post from the official Pokemon GO Twitter account, with Luvdisc appearing in large numbers all across the world. According to Niantic, all players who participate in this year's V-Day event for PoGO will be able to earn three times the amount of Stardust for each Luvdisc they collect.
For those unfamiliar with Pokemon GO, Luvdisc is a Water-Type Pokemon that is fashioned like a heart standing on its side, and the creature is known as the "rendezvous" Pokemon. Luvdisc is often connected with love and romance in Pokemon history, with the Pokedex article for the Pocket Monster suggesting that a couple that finds this Pokemon will be rewarded with everlasting love. Although many people may rush out to participate in this year's V-Day event for Pokemon GO, the offers for 2018 seem a little meager in contrast to the 2017 Valentine's Day event, which raised the spawn rates of various pink Pokemon such as Chansey, Porygon, Clefable, and others. Yet, the treble bonus of Stardust for every Luvdisc found will most certainly be enough to entice gamers to go out into the wilderness. So, although some may believe Niantic scrimped on material for Pokemon GO's Valentine's Day event in 2018, it's fantastic to see the company continue delivering festive images to keep the game fresh. Nevertheless, if first player reports of Shiny Luvdiscs suddenly appearing in the game are correct (the Shiny variety is gold-colored rather than pink), it's reasonable to assume that many will find the time to traverse their own areas in search of the uncommon Pokemon. Pokemon GO is now available for download on Android and iOS smartphones. Valentine's Day 2018 Trainers, Just a quick update: the Valentine's Day event in Pokemon GO is now live, with increased spawning ("schools") of Luvdisc and 3x Stardust for each one captured. It's time to burst those Lures and Star Pieces because it's pouring dust! But wait, there's more! Chansey spawns have been boosted, and Chansey is now giving out 3X Stardust! In other news, our fantastic Twitter and Discord communities verified in seconds that a shinier version of Luvdisc has been launched and is currently appearing in Dusty Luvdisc classrooms all over the world. The event will conclude on February 15 at 1:00 PM PST. Event recap
  • 3X Stardust on Luvdisc and Chansey captures
  • Luvdisc and Chansey spawn rates significantly increased
  • Shiny Luvdisc is available in the wild

My Thoughs About The Valentine's Day 2018 Event

Pokemon Go's Gen 3 event is set to expire later today, but that doesn't mean the game's creator Niantic isn't planning another one. The new event might be Valentine's Day-themed: it wouldn't be the first time the game has seen a romantic-themed event. Last year's event allowed Pokemon Go players to receive twice the amount of Candy for catching Pokemon, as well as incentives for hatching eggs and even more Candy for moving undesired 'Mon. Niantic also increased the frequency with which pink Pokémon spawned. Lure modules were also active for six hours rather than the customary 30 minutes, which became quite popular with trainers eager to catch as many Pokemon as possible. Datamining indicates that the Gen 3 event's extended lures are valid until February 23, yet the special Pokemon associated with that event are slated to expire today... does this suggest Niantic will likely release a new event soon? It's possible. We'll keep you updated on any Pokemon GO Valentine's Day event news as it becomes available, but for now, you can read about the event that ends today below, or refresh your memory on what we received as part of last year's PoGo Valentine's event. First and foremost, the Gen 3 event concludes today. According to Niantic, the event provided the following benefits to fans: "In addition to various Flying- and Dragon-type Pokémon making their debut in Pokémon GO, the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza will descend from the ozone layer and become accessible in Raid Battles for a short time." Players will be able to confront the legendary Rayquaza until March 16. The CP for the Rayquaza raid boss is 45468, and as you would assume, it is not feasible to solo the Gen 3 Legendary, therefore we recommend taking it on with at least 4-5 other trainers. Once taken, it has a maximum capture CP of 2083 at Level 20, with a perfect IV score, or 2604 in wet conditions at Level 25, with a perfect IV score. But first and foremost, you must learn how to counter Rayquaza. Valentine's Day 2018 pokemon go Here's what Niantic unveiled for Pokemon GO on Valentine's Day last year... will we see the same thing this year? It's possible. "With Valentine's Day just around the horizon, we couldn't think of a nicer moment to double the quantity of Candy you'll get every time you capture, hatch, and transfer Pokémon. "Your Friend Pokémon is likewise in the Valentine's Day mood and will discover Candy twice as quickly!" "During the celebration, you'll notice that Chansey, Clefable, and other charming pink Pokémon will appear more often in the wild. Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Smoochum will also hatch more often from Eggs. "Plus, to help you paint your town pink for Valentine's Day, Lure Modules will be available for six hours during the event." Niantic would be remiss to skip Valentine's Day with a new loveheart-shaped Pokémon in the game (Luvdisc). https://pokemongocentral.one/valentines-day-2018-event-in-pokemon-go/?feed_id=71886&_unique_id=63fa675c1f9d2
