Biology
Sneasel is a bipedal mustelid Pokémon that looks like a cross between a cat and a weasel. Its main color is bluish-black, with three brilliant red feathers on its tail and one on its left ear. The female's ear feather is shorter than the male's. The other ear is small and pointed, with narrow red eyes. Yellow oval patterns cover its brow and breast. It features black eyelash-like patterns on the margins of its crimson eyes. It has lengthy limbs and retractable claws on its hands and feet.
Sneasel is a very aggressive Pokémon, capable of inflicting significant damage with its claws. It also uses its claws to climb trees in boreal or subalpine woods. It may also use its claws to scare those that assault it. Sneasel has been seen stealing eggs from unguarded Pidgey nests. It has also been seen hunting in couples. Sneasels may blend into the darkness to ambush their victim. One will entice the parents to leave the nest, while the other will take the Eggs. It then pokes a hole in the Egg with its claws before sucking the contents out. As a consequence, Breeders loathe and believe Sneasel to be a plague, to the point of attempting to drive away or exterminate the former. Sneasel preys on Alolan Sandshrew, but Sandshrew's skin is so tough that Sneasel's claws may break off. Prior to Generation IV, its hallmark move was Beat Up.
Because of the cliffside dwelling habitat, Sneasel in Hisui resembles its Johtonian counterpart. It has a white and purple body with a light purple left ear. It has dark purple markings on its face, shoulders, and chest, as well as a yellow gem on both its head and chest. It has two closed toes on each foot and rounder eyes than the Johtonian variant. The female's ear feather is shorter than the male's, like with the Johtonian Sneasel.
The robust and curved claws of the Hisuian Sneasel help it to climb and move through the steep walls and cliffs where it dwells. The poison from the tips of the Hisuian Sneasel's claws has the potential to infiltrate the nerve system of any victim it scratches. Unlike the Johtonian Sneasel, it likes to be alone. It has been noted that the Hisuian Sneasel lacks the spitefulness of its Johtonian cousin, and it has been hypothesized that this is due to variations in its habitat. As a consequence of these environmental variances, Hisuian Sneasel develops into Sneasler rather than Weavile.
