Porygon Community Day in September 2020

On month's Community Day is this Sunday, September 20;  Porygon Community Day is Here and here's all you need to know about it. This month has seen a variety of events in Pokemon Go, from the current Mega Evolution-themed Mega September event to the reappearance of Articuno, and now September's Community Day has come. This month's event is today, Sunday, September 20, and to help you prepare, we've compiled a list of everything you need to know about September's Community Day, from its start time to the unique event-exclusive move you can learn this month and more, below.

September's Featured Pokemon: Porygon

Porygon
Porygon
Porygon, the Virtual Pokemon, is the featured Pokemon for September's Community Day. Porygon will spawn in the wild far more often than usual during the event, making this an excellent time to stock up on Porygon Candy. Furthermore, during the event, you will be able to capture a Shiny Porygon for the first time in the game.

September's Community Day Move: Tri Attack

Porygon2 (Porygon's evolved form) may be developed into Porygon-Z up to two hours after September's Community Day finishes, and it will learn the event-exclusive move Tri Attack. This is the first time this attack will be accessible in Pokemon Go, and it's a valuable one; in addition to delivering damage, Tri Attack has the potential to reduce the enemy Pokemon's Attack and Defense numbers.

September Community Day Hours

This month's Community Day, like the previous ones, will last six hours rather than three, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time. You have until 7 p.m. local time to develop Porygon2 into Porygon-Z and learn Tri Attack.

Community Day Special Research

Niantic is giving an event-exclusive Special Research tale called "Decoding Porygon" on September's Community Day. Tickets to access the Research narrative will be available shortly for $1 USD in Pokemon Go's in-game store.

Other Bonuses

Aside from higher Porygon spawns, there will be a few more perks available during September's Community Day. To begin, any Incense you use will be active for three hours rather than the customary 30 minutes. You'll also get three times as much XP for capturing Pokemon throughout the event. Finally, Niantic will offer a Community Day package for 1,280 PokeCoins, which will contain the following items:
  • 1 Elite Fast TM
  • 3 Incense
  • 6 Lucky Eggs
  • 30 Ultra Balls

How To Evolve Porygon

Porygon and Porygon2 both need specific things to develop in addition to Porygon Candy. Porygon needs an Upgrade to develop into Porygon2, while Porygon2 requires a Sinnoh Stone to evolve into Porygon-Z. These are usually hard to come by, but you'll have many opportunities to get them before September's Community Day. You may obtain an Upgrade and a Sinnoh Stone by completing that week's Timed Research during Week 2 of the Mega September event. You can also obtain up to three Upgrades and Sinnoh Stones by performing Timed Research on Community Day, with more accessible via the Decoding Porygon Research tale. Porygon Community Day will be held on September 20, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Evolving Porygon2 will result in a Porygon-Z that understands Tri Attack. During and after this event, Shiny Porygon is also accessible. The event includes quadruple Catch XP, a Decoding Porygon Special Research narrative, and a Community Day Box with Elite Fast TM for a one-time purchase. You can read more about Tri Attack here.
