Kanto Celebration 2018 Event

This week sees the start of the second Pokémon Go limited-time event. Niantic announced. Players may discover a lot more first-generation Pokémon in the wild thanks this Kanto Celebration 2018 Event starting today, April 10, at 1 p.m. PT, and continuing through April 17 than normal.

Aerodactyl and Snorlax are two of such Pokémon, and they'll be waiting for players at gyms during raid battles. Based on how they seem in the games they come from, both of these men put up a respectable fight; consider taking them as a medal of valor.

With the exception of a candy bonus that is doubled when transferring Pokémon, that is about it for the major events throughout this Pokémon Go campaign.

Niantic hasn't confirmed whether the game's several new shiny Pokémon variants will make their debut during this week's Kanto event, despite a weekend datamine showing that they are ready to go. That element could be up to the players to determine.

Today marks the beginning of a new worldwide celebration of Pokemon from the Kanto area that will last for a week.

Pokemon GO is holding a Kanto Celebration event from April 10 to April 17 in which the great majority of Pokémon spawns are Gen 1 species. This isn't a return to the Pidgey and Weedle era of 2016, since spawning seem to be dispersed quite equally throughout all local biomes.

Players will have the chance to capture more of certain species in just these 7 days than they have ever seen in years of playing GO. Also, any candy acquired during this event is doubled, giving it the ideal time to stock up on candy that is often rare.

Most of the top non-legendary Pokemon in the game evolved from the original 151 Pokemon even after three generations of the game. The Kanto Celebration is an opportunity for players who missed out on the finest legendaries like Raikou and Kyogre, either because they took a vacation from the game or because they resided in a region where legendary raids are not feasible, to assemble a battle-ready squad for any circumstance.

Pokemon Go will include new Pokémon from the Kanto area starting at 1pm PT/4pm ET/9pm UK (April 11 at 6am AET). Raid Battles will also include a few Pokemon, such as Snorlax and Aerodactyl.

Trainers will get double Candy as an added benefit when they find and catch more of the original 151 Pokémon. Moreover, there will be unique boxes containing Raid Passes at the event.

The Kanto celebration event for Pokemon Go will finish on April 17. While you continue your mission to capture them all, visit our Pokemon Go website for a ton of advice.

Legendary Pokemon Latias and Latios started showing up in raid battles earlier this month, and only a few weeks ago, the Mythical Pokémon Mew was introduced to the game through a new quest system.

Official Announcement:

Trainers,

The appearance of the Mythical Pokémon Mew has attracted Pokémon that were originally discovered in the Kanto region. These classic Pokémon will be seen more frequently starting April 10 at 1 P.M. PDT, so you’ll have the perfect opportunity to earn a gold Kanto medal and even complete your Kanto Pokédex!

What’s more, certain Pokémon such as Aerodactyl and Snorlax will be featured in Raid Battles across the world. Keep an eye out for one you haven’t encountered yet!

As you encounter and catch more Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region, all actions will be rewarded with double Candy. So, not only will you be able to catch Pokémon you might not frequently see, but you may also get the chance to register their evolved forms in your Pokédex as well.

During this event, there will also be special boxes containing Raid Passes! These boxes will give you an opportunity to challenge many powerful Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region.

This special celebration ends on April 17, so get out there and make some more discoveries. If all goes well, you may be able to finish your first Special Research request and encounter Mew!
