From now until February 28, a new unique Pikachu may be encountered in the wild, giving some recognizable apparel as well as a few goodies.
"Celebrate all things Pokémon with festive Pikachu donning party hats accessible in the wild from February 26 to February 28," Niantic said on the official Go Twitter account.
While Party Hat Pikachus have appeared in the game before, the new event provides everyone another chance. There are also large rewards for catching the special Pikachu, which apparently come with the special move Present and dish away quadruple Stardust. That isn't the only thing happening to commemorate the original Pokemon games. Niantic has also announced that new Trainer avatar items from Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are now available in-game. Niantic has not announced any further benefits, although it is worth keeping an eye on Niantic's social media sites throughout the day. Aside from Pokemon Day, fans now know more about Community Day 3. The next limited-time event, which will begin in March, will feature the Pocket Monster, Bulbasaur. The special move has yet to be unveiled, but we do know that the Grass-type will debut with some excellent benefits. During event hours, they will provide 3x Catch XP as well as the standard 3-hour lures. Community Day 3 begins on Sunday, March 25, giving fans plenty of time to prepare. Trainers are also looking for new Shiny Bulbasaurs, but Niantic has yet to divulge anything on the matter.
