Gastly Community Day in July 2020

This month, Niantic has a slew of Pokemon Go activities planned. The studio will hold another Community Day on Sunday, July 19, ahead of Pokemon Go Fest 2020, and it has now given some further information about the event.

Gastly Community Day is Here!

Like the previous Community Days, the July event will span six hours instead of three, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time. Gastly, as previously announced, will be this month's featured Pokemon. The Ghost Pokemon will emerge in the wild considerably more often than normal during Community Day, and you'll get a chance to capture a Shiny Gastly. Gastly_Community_Day_2020 Niantic also confirmed that the Community Day move for this month will be Shadow Punch. If you develop Haunter—evolved Gastly's form—into Gengar by 7 PM local time (two hours after the Community Day finishes), it will learn Shadow Punch, which it usually cannot learn in Pokemon Go. A few extras will also be available during July's Community Day. To begin, eggs will hatch at one-quarter the typical distance. Any Incense you use will also last three hours rather than the normal 30 minutes, and a special Community Day package containing 30 Ultra Balls, an Elite Fast TM, two Incense, and two Super Incubators will be available to buy from the in-game store. Finally, during the event, Niantic will give a Community Day-exclusive Special Research questline dubbed The Great Gastly. The questline will need the purchase of a ticket, which will be available in Pokemon Go's in-game store ahead of the Community Day for $1 USD. More information is available on the game's official website. Meanwhile, the first round of weekly Pokemon Go Fest challenges will be available this week. Niantic will release more Pokemon over the Go Fest weekend if enough players on each team complete the tasks. BUDDYS WILL NOT BRING POKE BALLS - 17TH JULY

Niantic has sent a tweet warning players that their friend would not be bringing them Poke Balls on Community Day. However, there will be a free bundle of 30 Ultra Balls in the store, as well as presents with more goods than normal.

Featured Pokemon Voting

The featured Pokemon for July is Gastly.

Gastly: Evolve Haunter (Gastly's evolved form) to get a Gengar that understands the Ghost-type attack Shadow Punch. The ability of Shadow Punch to charge up rapidly provides Gengar with a great strike for tricking your opponent into activating their Protect Shields. This may allow you to perform more powerful strikes later, such as Shadow Ball!

Biology Medicham is a humanoid, bipedal Pokémon that resembles a yoga practitioner. It has a gray body with red and yellow adornments.
