The next Pokemon Go Community Day is almost approaching. Before the event, Niantic revealed further information about the incentives that players would be able to get, including the special move for this month's highlighted Pokemon. Bulbasaur Community Day will be held on March 25. According to the official Pokemon Go website, the event will last three hours, beginning at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET and ending at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET. Players will get triple the regular amount of XP for catching Pokemon during those hours, and Lure modules will last three hours.

Pocket Monster enthusiasts on iOS and Android will have a busy day today. The third Pokemon Go Community Day will begin later today and will include a variety of eye-catching gifts. The most powerful will be linked to Bulbasaur, who will spawn often throughout the three-hour event. My Last Opinion About This Community Day

Bulbasaur is a charming little starter from Generation 1. It develops into Ivysaur and eventually Venosaur, the latter of which is a decently formidable Grass/Poison-type but not really helpful in the current meta. If you develop a Venosaur during the event, it will learn the special move Frenzy Plant; keep in mind that this move can only be learned via evolution, not TMs. As usual, the whole Bulbasaur family will very certainly be available in a lighter green flashy version. We offer a universal gameplay boost in addition to the Bulbasaur: three times the experience for all captures. Please keep in mind that this is only for catches, so don't spend Community Day cooped up at home developing. A word of warning this time: I doubt this Community Day will be quite as popular as last month's, which included the valuable Dratini in both ordinary and Shiny varieties. Dratini not only evolves into Dragonair and Dragonite, the latter of which is one of the game's most helpful Pokémon, but the captures also contribute towards the rare Dragon Tamer medal. Bulbasaur has been around long enough that many people have a Venosaur, and on top of that, it's a much tougher to capture. One of the most enjoyable aspects about Dratini was that, despite its scarcity, it had a reasonably high catch rate, which meant you could go crazy collecting them as long as Community Day was on. The starters have traditionally had poor catch rates, which means that these Bulbasaurs will be a berry, ball, and time drain, which isn't as much fun. As a final discouragement, the experience boost isn't nearly as helpful as the Stardust bonus from last month. It's really bad, since last month's Community Day was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had with the game in a long time, and judging by the crowds, many others felt the same way. The three-hour timeframe has the potential to generate a feeling of occasion and excitement that drives everyone out to play at the same time, but only if Niantic gets the reward calculation right.
