Beldum Community Day is the greatest and must have event in the
Pokemon Go world. Get a
Metagross that understands
Meteor Mash, hunt down
Shiny Beldum, and hatch
Eggs more rapidly on
Sunday, October 21.
This month’s
Pokémon GO Community Day will be celebrated on
Sunday, October 21, 2018, and
Beldum will be the highlighted
Pokémon of the day. During a
three-hour timeframe, wild
Beldum will arise with substantially higher frequency than typical.

You’ll want to capture as many as you can during that time period—
Beldum develop into
Metang, and if you evolve a
Metang into
Metagross within that
three hours or up to one hour following the event, it will know the attack
Meteor Mash! Only
Metagross that develop or are captured during the
Community Day activities will learn this great ability.

With
September's Pokemon Go Community Day behind us, Niantic has published the first information on its upcoming monthly event.
October's Community Day is slated to take place on
Sunday, October 21, and this time, the featured
Pokemon will be
Beldum, the initial form of the formidable Steel/Psychic-type Metagross.
All during the event,
Beldum will occur significantly more often in the wild than usual. Based on past
Community Days, it is also likely that fans will have their first chance to catch a
Shiny Beldum; while Niantic hasn't confirmed this, the developer has introduced
Shiny variants of nearly every featured Pokemon during previous events, which all but guarantees that
Shiny Beldum will make its debut next month.

It's finally autumn up here in the northeast, with fast plummeting Mercury that seems a world different from the sticky humidity we experienced only last week. And what better way to appreciate that brisk autumn air than than going out there and catching
Pokémon? It's time for our
October Community Day in Pokémon GO, where
Beldum will be emerging in swarms for a
rare three hours this coming
Sunday. Read on for specifics on the
Pokémon, the bonus, the move, as well as start and finish timings.
Start/End Times: The October Community Day is on
Sunday, October 21. As usual, the event will take place in three main time zones, and therefore your start time will vary on where you are in the world:
- North America: 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Pacific Europe, the Middle East And Africa: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. UTC
- Asia/Pacific: 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. JST
The Pokémon:
Beldum is a strange species. It's a
Steel/Psychic-type that develops first into
Metang and then into
Metagross, which is a competent high
CP Pokémon helpful in numerous scenarios. Seems definitely it bizarre, however:
Beldum itself is simply kind of a floating eye on a stick, while
Metagross is a gigantic spider type of creature. It's quite uncommon in the wild, which will no likely generate some decent numbers this
Sunday, especially considering people will still be going for
Gen 4 species at the same time. As usual,
Beldum will likely be available in shiny form as well.
The Move: Any Beldum that develops into
Metagross on
Community Day will learn
Meteor Mash, which should be a helpful way to fill out
Beldum as a powerful Steel-type attacker.
Metagross is most certainly a good monster, and the relative dearth of Steel-types should keep it helpful in the meta for a long time.
The Bonus: As usual, any lures engaged on
Community Day will last three hours instead of the normal
30 minutes, which is very beneficial given all the new
Pokémon hatching in the globe right now. We're also gaining a benefit to egg distance: eggs will hatch in 1/4 the time for the period, handy for cracking 10km eggs seeking for
Riolu. Egg hatching distance is usually a type of double-edged sword of an advantage. It does actually help you to make speedy progress, but in order to take full use of it, you've need to invest a large amount of money for incubators.
Beldum Community Day is Here!
Gen 4 and probable new Legendary: an It's exciting moment for
Pokémon GO, with new
Gen 4 monsters pulling gamers out like only new
Pokémon can. We'll also likely be receiving a new legendary whenever
Mewtwo makes its leave, and that may grab some major attention. I'd anticipate this to be a well-attended
Community Day.
In addition to all the
Beldum fun, all
Eggs will hatch four times as rapidly during the festival hours. Plus,
Lure Modules will stay active for three hours, letting Trainers get the most out of the event. You could even meet a
Shiny Beldum on your quest!
Check below to find out when the event hours fall in your part of the world:
