Mantine #226

Biology

Mantine is a ray-like Pokémon. It features a dark blue overside and big wing-like fins with a jagged appearance on the front rim. It features two long protrusions on its head that resemble horns or antennas, as well as two black ring-shaped markings on the back. On its pinkish gray bottom, there are two sets of gills, as well as two beady eyes and a little mouth. It has a gritty feel throughout. Mantine thrives in broad oceans where it may swim freely, frequently in schools racing one other. If it gathers enough speed, it can leap out of the water and soar 300 feet into the air. Observers who seen this action in the past often mistaken it as a bird Pokémon. Mantine is sometimes observed with a Remoraid attached to the bottom of one of its fins, foraging for scraps and fighting alongside it when attacked. Mantine is a calm creature that doesn't mind the Remoraid hanging to its fin. Many surfers in Alola ride waves and travel between islands on the backs of Mantine. As a result, it has become a regional symbol, appearing on souvenir postcards and posters.
