Biology

Celesteela is a gigantic, strangely humanoid Ultra Beast with a body that looks like a hybrid of a space ship and a bamboo stalk. It features a little white head with a tiny mouth and a slender three-segmented neck. A gray structure resembling a cap sits on its head, with long, flowing hair below. The hair is ringed with vivid blue and stretches halfway down its body. The "hat" is decorated with two little blue dots and four white spikes grouped in an X pattern. These spikes have the appearance of ornamental hair sticks. A long gray horn like a drill bit protrudes from the top of its cap. It has disembodied gray arms that look like bamboo stalks. Each arm has a ring of brilliant blue, fin-like projections and an assortment of eight smaller, black bamboo shoots. Each tiny stalk is adorned with a vivid blue ring and a thin line that extends back up the stalk.

Its primary body is conical and has four overlapping layers, similar to a garment. The topmost and shortest layer is metallic, but the interior layers are each a brighter shade of green, gradually longer, and seem to be fabric or plant material. Underneath all of the layers is a white body with a light gray crisscross pattern and a brilliant blue ring near the bottom. There looks to be a cluster of eight black bamboo stalks underneath the outfit. Each stalk has a brilliant blue ring at the bottom with a thin line continuing back up the stalk, giving the stalks the appearance of solid rocket boosters. Celesteela, along with Cosmoem, is one of the heaviest Pokémon.

Its most distinguishing characteristic, according to Wicke of the Aether Foundation, is the energy that it stores inside itself: a combustible gas that it can blast from its two massive arms. This is largely utilized to propel itself in flight and for warfare, though it has enough power and lift to travel into space. Celesteela's rocket thrust is strong enough to completely demolish a bamboo forest. Celesteela, while being a Steel type, has a plant-like body that can absorb nourishment from the earth. Celesteela, as shown in the anime, may live for a very long time, as one was buried in Alola for nearly 200 years.
