Special Trading Event 2018
Pokemon Go now has a fresh in-game event going on. Developer Niantic launched a special trading-focused event with the recent release of Lucky Pokemon, giving players additional Candy, XP, and other perks when they trade Pokémon with friends.

The celebration lasts through August 19 at 9 p.m. PT (12 AM ET on August 20). All exchanges with friends—including ones you've just recently added—will cost 25% less Stardust at that period. The latter are for Legendary or Shiny Pokémon, and they apply to both ordinary and special deals.
You may now earn up to six Candies on each trade, according to Niantic, giving you another another incentive to exchange Pokemon with pals. You'll get three times as many experience points if you acquire a Pokemon that hasn't already been listed in your Pokedex, so this is an excellent chance to complete any gaps in your collection.
If you're trying to get your hands on a Lucky Pokemon, the event is also quite helpful. These unique variations are only available via trades. They are identified by a dazzling backdrop on the collecting screen and need less Stardust to level up than regular Pokemon. Niantic asserts that a Pokemon has a greater chance of evolving into a Lucky Pokemon when transferred to another player the longer it has been stored by a player.
Players of Pokemon Go have a few other events to look forward to in August in addition to the trade event. The first is this month's Community Day, which includes Eevee and spans two days (August 11 and 12). Later, from August 29 to September 2 in Yokosuka, Japan, Niantic will hold a unique Safari Zone event. Even if you are unable to attend in person, you may still participate in a number of Global Challenges to obtain a unique worldwide award.
A little more than a month after adding Pokemon trade, Pokemon GO is now announcing its first event based on the functionality. Earlier today, the Special Trade Event in Pokemon GO went live. It runs until August 19 at 9 p.m. PDT.
Players are encouraged to utilize the Pokemon trading function by the Special Trade Event in Pokemon GO, which offers a number of exclusive incentives they may take advantage of. All transactions will cost 25% less stardust during the event, which is important since higher profile deals in the game might cost more than 1 million stardust depending on friendship levels.
In addition, players will get additional candy for trading Pokemon during the event, up to six candies each exchange. Players will gain triple XP for a trade if they obtain a Pokemon that they don't currently have in their Pokedex. This should motivate players to engage in the pricier special deals with one another, particularly if they want to advance in the game.
Pokemon GO gamers may have further events to look forward to in August in addition to the Special Trade Event. There are speculations that a generation 4 event is also scheduled for later this month, but nothing official has been announced. According to rumors, the occasion will coincide with the forthcoming Eevee Community Days, which some anticipate may include Eevee's gen 4 evolutions Glaceon and Leafeon.
At this point, though, it is only conjecture, and it's also conceivable that the Eevee Community Days will just aid players in catching more Flareons, Jolteons, and Vaporeons.
Although it would be great if generation 4 Pokemon appeared in Pokemon GO in August, there is still a ton of other material that gamers can look forward to. Eevee Community Days, the Special Trade Event now underway, and other events are all scheduled. It's difficult to grumble when Niantic continually offers exclusive events for Pokemon GO enthusiasts.
