POKEMON GO SPECIAL WEEKEND 2018 EVENT



Trainers, an exclusive Japan-only event will run from Thursday, July 26 to Sunday, July 29 according to the official Pokemon GO Japanese website! The event, called Pokemon GO Special Weekend, offers starter Pokemon and Unowns along with a number of additional in-game advantages.

An official partner may redeem a Weekend Participation ticket, which is needed for the in-game event known as the Pokemon GO Special Weekend. Purchasers may get tickets by making a purchase and responding to a survey at partner-exclusive Poke Stops (not gyms). A two-dimensional barcode on tickets has to be scanned.

From July 26 to July 29, the event will take place everyday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

During the event, XP gains are quadrupled, and players may encounter unique Pokemon in Japan that will appear more often than normal.

Depending on the date of participation, different Pokemon may be found:

  • July 26th: Softbank, Unown S, B & Charmander

  • July 27th: Toho Cinemas, Tully’s Coffee & Joyfull, Unown T, J & Squirtle

  • July 28th: McDonalds, Unown M, D & Pikachu

  • July 29th: Aeon, Unown A, E & Bulbasaur


You can get tickets at special locations that are tied to Japan’s official Pokemon GO Partners (a purchase + answering a questionnaire is required in order to get a ticket):

  • Aeon from July 13

  • Joyful from July 15

  • Tully’s Coffee from July 24

Another Pokemon GO Special Weekend in Japan will be organized, according to the Japanese telecoms provider SoftBank.

On February 23, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. JST, the Pokemon GO Special Weekend will take place. The event's coupons will be sent from February 8 to February 13, 2019. SoftBank members must submit a survey in order to participate in the event, and non-SoftBank members who do so will be entered into a lottery for a chance to win a voucher.

There will be more special Pokémon spawning throughout the Pokemon GO Special Weekend. The nature of the Pokemon is yet unclear.+

Biology Medicham is a humanoid, bipedal Pokémon that resembles a yoga practitioner. It has a gray body with red and yellow adornments. A red headpiece with three bulb-like extensions covers the upper portion of its head: one on top and one on either side. The bulb on top is short on a female Medicham.
